Setting up a dealer catalog on Shopify
Shopify is where most dealer catalogs end up. The setup that matters is not the theme, it is pricing accuracy and stock accuracy.
Load the catalog once, properly
Import the range from the supplier file with codes, specifications, delivery timeframes and media rather than building pages one at a time. Correct product codes are what make later stock and pricing checks possible.
Respect the price floor everywhere
The floor applies to the product page, collection pages, discount codes and any marketplace listing fed from the same catalog. Automated checks compare listings to the floor and flag the exact listing address and price when something drifts below it.
Keep stock in step
Where a brand supports it, stock levels sync from the manufacturer so a sold out item stops selling on your store automatically. This is the difference between a cancelled order and a clean delivery timeframe.
Before you launch
Check shipping settings against the brand's delivery timeframes, confirm freight handling on bulky items, and make sure your returns policy matches what the manufacturer actually accepts.
