High ticket products for online stores
One high ticket sale can be worth hundreds of low cost orders. The economics only work if you get authorized supply, protected pricing and a category that is not already saturated.
Why the ticket size matters
On a low cost product, advertising cost swallows the margin. On a high ticket product, a single sale can pay for the traffic that produced it several times over, which is what makes paid acquisition viable for a small store.
What makes a category worth entering
- Few online dealers already selling the brand
- Real search demand for the brand and the product type
- A margin band that survives freight and advertising
- A manufacturer that ships direct so you hold no stock
What to avoid
Unauthorized supply, open pricing with no floor, and categories where dozens of stores already compete on the same listing. All three end in a price race you cannot win.
How to start
Pick one category, activate one or two brands in it, and build the store around them rather than listing everything at once.
